Funeral services for Earl G. Brown, 69, of Burnside Township were held on Wednesday, Febuary 5, 1964. Mr. Brown died at 11:30 P.M. on February 1st in the University Hopital at Ann Arbor, where he had been a patient for four months following severe burns from an electric welder. Born June 24, 1894, in Valley Center, Michigan, he was the son of James and Harriet Brown. His entire life was spent in Marlette and adjoining areas and he attended the Valley Center School. On January 27, 1915, he and Myrtle Landon were united in marriage. Their entire married life was spent in the Marlette community where Mr. Brown worked as a blacksmith and farmer. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle, Three daughters and five sons. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Marsh Brothers and services were conducted in Bethel Church at 2 o'clock by Rev. John Larkin, pastor and Rev. William Burgess pastor of the United Missionary Church, Pontiac. Interment was in Marlette Cemetery. (The Marlette Leader Feb. 5, 1964)
