Clinton Tharp, 81, of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, died at 12:45 a.m., Sunday, June 29, 1997 in Campbellsville. Son of the late Charles Samuel Tharp and Ida Cave Tharp, he was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Nov. 21, 1915. Tharp was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served for many years as an elder and Sunday School superintendent and clerk for 50 years. He was retired owner and operator of Tharp Construction Company and a member of the Campbellsville Lions Club. Tharp was married to Clarice Keltner on Dec. 24, 1936. Besides his wife, Tharp is survived by several other relatives. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clem S. Tharp on Feb. 19, 1988 and Owen S. Tharp on Dec. 2, 1975. Funeral was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. J.C. Greenwell and the Rev. Bob Tucker. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
