MT. VERNON - — Ethel Mae Coy Gregory, 83, of McLeansboro, died 4:55 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Hamilton County, daughter of Elijah N. and Leona (Tedford) Webb. She married Robert Lee Coy and he preceded her in death. She married Lester Gregory and he preceded her in death.
She was a retired cook. She worked at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home for several years and later worked for Addus Home Health Care. She was a former member of Belle Prairie Baptist Church and later joined Hopewell Baptist Church near McLeansboro.
She is survived by son, Samuel (wife Dixie) Coy of Wayne City; daughter, Sandra Allen of Broughton; five grandchildren, Crystal (Matt) Hutchcraft of McLeansboro, Michael Coy of McLeansboro, Stephanie (Jamie) Knight of Walpole, Robert (Alicia) Allen of Broughton and Lisa Allen of Broughton; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dena (David) Young of Mt. Vernon and June Thomason of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; five brothers, Wayne, Eugene, Delmar, Johnnie and Leroy Webb; one sister, Golda Lucille Barker; one grandchild, Jennifer Allen; and son-in-law, Eddie Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Interment wil be at Crouch Cemetery near Belle Prairie.
