Rev. Rufus Edgar Barnes,67, died at 6:30 A.M. Febuary 12 at the residence, Hanceville, and until his health failed, was an active minister of the Free Will Baptist Faith. Funeral services were held at 11: A.M. Feb 14 at the Hopewell Baptist Church, with internment in adjoing cemetery with Rev. Joe Holmes and Rev. Floyd Hines officiating.
Rev. Barnes was survived by his wife Maggie Barnes; one daughter Mrs. W. W. Simmons of Blountville, and 14 grandchildren, Drinkard directing.
