"Mrs. Hodson Dies, Wife Of Former Clinton Sheriff
WILMINGTON -- Mrs. Austie Ellen Cummins Hodson, 68, wife of J.E. Hodson, former Clinton County Sheriff, died at 3:15 am yesterday at her home in New Vienna.
She was matron of the county jail here eight years while her husband was sheriff. Services will be held at 2 pm tomorrow in the Reynolds Funeral Home, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm today.
Surviving are the husband, two daughters, Mrs. Mozelle Babb of Wilmington and Mrs. Martha Ann Bernard of the nearby Fairview Community; two sons, Edwin of Vandalia and Paul of Pt. William; a sister, Mrs. Bessie P. Williams of near Wilmington; two brothers, Norman J. and John Cummins, both of Wilmington and 10 grandchildren."
