An Eastern Star funeral service was conducted at the Canaday-Boos Funeral home
chapel Monday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Agnes Julia Stoner, 88, of Momence, who passed
away at her home Friday, July 20.
The Rev. Father Francis X. Resch, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd,
officiated at the services. Interment was in the Momence cemetery.
Mrs. Stoner, who had lived in Momence the past 50 years, was born March 7, 1863
in Holland, Mich. Her husband, John D. Stoner, preceded her in death in 1920. He
had been employed by the C&EI railroad as an engineer.
The deceased had served as worthy matron of the Ganeer chapter of the Eastern
Star and had been grand lecturer of the Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois.
She was a member of the Episcopal church.
Survivors include her two sons, Dr. J. Fred Stoner of Momence and Henry E.
Stoner of Crawford, N.J.
