Mr. Fry was born in Silverton on July 8, 1913, to Arthur and Josephine (Robinson) Fry. He graduated from Benson Tech in Portland, then went to work as a machinist.
After marrying Florence Haynes on March 20, 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy. He was discharged in 1945, when World War II wound down.
Upon returning to Oregon, Mr. Fry built a boat and began to ocean fish commercially with his wife. Upon retirement, he spent his time woodcarving, traveling and RV camping. He spent most of his life in Portland, moving to Hillside Retirement Community in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Florence.
