Isabella Sherrington was the widow of Dallas Stoudenmire, one of the most famous and notorious
gunslingers in Texas history.

Isabella Sherrington b Oct 18 1858 MS d April 15 1921 Galveston Co TX d/o Capt. Henry W.
(b 1817) and Elizabeth A. (Hyndman) Sherrington b Jan 1 1831 Belfast IRE d Dec 19 1902.

On Feb 20 1882 Isabella was married by Charles Riley, a county judge, to Dallas Stoudenmire b Dec 11 1845 Aberfoil Community, Bullock Co AL s/o Lewis Stoudenmire b 1784 Orangeburg SC and his 1st wife Ann (Golsan) Stoudenmire b 1790 Orangeburg SC.

They had been married just short of seven months when on Sept 18 1882 Dallas was fatally shot and killed in an El Paso gunfight with three Manning brothers, one of whom, James Manning, had previously killed Dallas Stoudenmire's brother in law Doc Cummings. Dallas had been a Texas state marshall and marshall of El Paso also. Dallas, a Mason, was shipped back by his Lodge brothers and buried in Alleyton Cemetery, Colorado Co TX. He and Isabella had no children.

On Dec 5 1883 Isabella (Sherrington) Stoudenmire was married in Colorado Co TX by Rev. John B. Armstrong, a Baptist minister, to (2) Charles Slick Kerl b Jan 1 1848 Mansfield OH d Jan 3 1920 Galveston Co TX s/o John and Rebecca (Bolton) Kerl. Charles Slick Kerl worked for the railroad.
He died accidentally by drowning. Kerl and Isabella had four children, all born in TX viz:

i Jessie Elizabeth Kerl b Sept 25 1884 d Aug 3 1885 buried Odd Fellows Cemetery,
Colorado Co TX.
ii. Murray Warren Kerl b July 11 1887
iii. Grace Kerl b 1893
iv. Katie Kerl b 1894
