My dad graduated from high school with Bob, played football with him, shared farming stories with him. When Bob and my father married, the wives became best friends as well. They were even in a potluck card club together that met monthly that started when they were young, and kept going until sometime in their 70's. A very special bond - truly friends forever.
DAVIS - C. Robert Anderson, 83, of Davis died at 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Rockford Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident on Aug. 6, 2000. Born Sept. 22, 1916 in Gretna, Neb., the son of Gustav and Anne Gustafson Anderson. Married Patricia A. Miller in Rockford on Dec. 24, 1938; she died as a result of the same accident. He was a dairy farmer for 45 years, retiring in 1996. Survivors include daughters, Pam Anderson of Brighton, Colo., and Robbie Anderson of Boulder, Colo.; son, Rich Anderson of Machesney Park; grandson, Eric Bishop; and sister, Dorothy Woods of Tampa, Fla. Predeceased also by daughter Wendy Herbig; and brother, Sterling Anderson.
Combined memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Fred C. Olson Funeral Chapels Ltd., East Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with the Rev. William Richard Kerr Sr. officiating.
