DECATUR — Rose Melene (Streight) Page, 80, of Decatur, passed away at 8:40 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Richard Streibich officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community of Christ Church.
Melene was born January 4, 1932, the daughter of Melvin A. and Grace K. (Oakley) Streight. She married Joe Page in Dover, TN on September 4, 1950, and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2004.
Melene was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed caring for her family. She had formerly received the "Mother of the Year" award and had served as president of the women's group at Peoples Church of God. She also had served as the former zoning board chairman and as a trustee for the Village of Harristown. She volunteered at the local AARP, Senior Center, Dove, the Salvation Army and loved going out with the Gorgeous Grannies and all her senior friend events.
Surviving are her children: Mark Page, JoLene (Steve) Jones, Scott (Cathy) Page, Matt Page, Kris Pryde (Steve Duncan) and Kelly (Jay) Doyle; grandchildren: Stacie Page (David Campbell), Alissa (Stephen) Gruenewald, Dustin (Katie) Pryde, Melissa Page (Josh Kearns), Zach (JoBeth) Page, Kyle Doyle, Chance Page, Kyler Page, and Shanon (Jeff) Eller; great-grandchildren: Kennedi, Keegan, Trista, Hannah, Jacob, and Nic; sister: Betty Gentry. Special thanks to Joanne Page, Rene Burns, and Traci Street for the many hours spent by her side and to all her family and friends that visited her during her illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Mary Burns, Dorothy Schroll, Dale Streight and Roscoe Streight; daughter-in-law: Sheila Dianne Page; and infant great grandson: Levi Page.
