He is survived by companion Teone Wong; sons Hiram Jr., Hayden and Nenui Kahele and Erie Wong; daughters Gracie Kahele-Puu and Charnelle and Sarah Kahele; brothers Kaipo De Geair and Francis, Wilfred and Thomas Lobo; sisters Mary Don Rawlins, Betty Jean Spillner, Sheila Kahalepauole, Verna Lei Kahele and Karen Ametuanai, and five granddaughters.
