John Pikus came from Poland on the eve of World War I, barely escaping conscription into the Russian Army in 1914. He settled in Camden, New Jersey, where he married his wife, Feliska. They had 6 children - Fred, Bill, Helen, Ceil, Wanda and Janice. His second child, William J. Pikus, was my grandfather, making John Pikus my paternal great-grandfather. Rest in Peace, Great-Grandfather.

He was first married to Feliska, my great-grandmother, who died in 1935. He was then married to Helen Pikus, who outlived him.
