Othur Barnett Boggess, 88, of Sissonville, died Aug. 4, 1989, in Americare-Dunbar, after a long illness. He was a retired meat cutter from Big Star and a member of the food store employees union. He was a founder and trustee of Allen Fork Community Mission and a lifelong resident of Kanawha County.

Surviving: wife, Almeda; daughters, Rose Lee Raines of Charleston, Reba Harrison of South Charleston; sons, Edward Ray of Nitro, Ronald Lee of Dunbar; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Service was held at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Pocatalico, with the Rev. Jerry Bonnett officiating. Burial followed in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
