Roy was a graduate of Struthers High School and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked at LTV Steel and retired after many years of service. He enjoyed working craft shows with his wife for 15 years and loved fishing in Canada. Roy was well liked and loved by his friends and family alike.
Roy was survived by his wife Peggy, whom he married Oct. 28 1981; a son Ron (Michele) of Akron OH; two daughters Gail (Steve) Helms of Warren OH and Dena Rosenberger of Youngstown OH; three stepchildren Chuck Miller of Boardman OH, Lou "James" Thompson of Lisbon OH and Linda (Anthony) Protopapa of Struthers; two sisters Faye B. Worrel and Norma "Dolly" J. Schell both of Youngstown; and five grandchildren Taylor and Amy Helms, Hunter Thompson and Anthony and Aly Protopapa.
Roy was preceded by his parents; his first wife Dorothy (Massie) Rosenberger, who died in 1977; a sister Betty L. Elgin of L.I. New York; and four brothers Ralph R., Charles S., Donald M. and Frederick D. Rosenberger.
Friends called on Tuesday and Wednesday at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Services were held at the funeral home Wednesday and interment was in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
