BLUEFIELD — Elizabeth Kathleen Hamblin Scott, age 89, of The Maples in Bluefield, W.Va., formerly of Rock, died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at The Maples.

Born on May 14, 1923 in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Ward and Mamie Munsey Hamblin. She lived in Rock for 70 years and was a member of the Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a member of the Rock Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as a worthy matron. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Scott; and two sisters, Louise and Violet.

Survivors include: Daughter: Betty Lou Vest and husband Charles of Bluefield; brother: Warren Eugene Hamblin of Princeton; granddaughter: Michelle Adams of Dallas, N.C.; grandson: John Paul Vest of Bluefield; special niece: Margaret Wood of Princeton, W.Va.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Ryan Lawrence Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where nephews and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
