High Point--Gary Franklin Culler, 19, of 1617 Seven Oaks Place, was killed at 1:45 a.m. Monday when his car ran off a rural paved road 8.6 miles of Thomasville and struck a tree. Trooper R. B. Holman said Culler was thrown from the car in the one vehicle wreck. Funeral was 11 a.m. today at Cumby Chestnut Drive Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Lamar King officiating. Burial was in Floral Garden Park. A native of high Point and graduate of Central High School, he was a rising sophomore at Appalachian State University. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the college and career class of its Sunday school.
Surviving are parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alan Culler Sr.; brothers, Robert A. Culler Jr. of Greensboro and Michael S. Culler of the home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Roy Culler of high Point.
