Ruth Elizabeth Acord, 84, of Maryland formerly of MacArthur passed away on Friday April 3, 2015.
Born September 10, 1930 in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Richards (Deceased) and Rosabell Ball-Richards (Deceased).
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira L. Acord (1911-1974) whom she married on July 7, 1949 in Hinton, Summers County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Summers County, WV, 1947, Page 35, Application Date: July 1, 1947), two sons Bo Acord (Deceased) and John Acord (Deceased), and nine brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Nick Acord and his wife Alice, her brother Hobert Richards, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Services will be held at 11:00am Thursday April 9, 2015 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rev. William O. Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Crews Cemetery on Sand Knob.
