He was born on the family farm, near Losantville, on January 28, 1926, the son of Fred and Esther (Golliher) Lindsey, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Ted served with the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a retired employee of Perfect Circle / Dana Corp. in Hagerstown. He was also a lifelong farmer.
He was a former member of the Union Twp. Lions Club, American Legion Post 333 in Hagerstown and Riverside Cemetery Board, where he served as sexton for many years.
Survivors include three children, Lucinda Lindsey of Columbus, IN, Rex Lindsey (Bev) of Hagerstown and Jean Lindsey of Crossville, TN; three grandchildren, Ryan (Abbie), Jason and Tara; three great-grandchildren, Taya, Miranda and Aiden; a brother, Dennis Lindsey (Nancy) of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Weaver) Lindsey in 2008; two sons, Dave Lindsey and Joe Lindsey; three brothers, Edgar Lindsey, Howard Lindsey and Wilbur Lindsey.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery, Losantville.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
Memorials may be made to Union Twp. Lions Club for sight related services.
