Lucille A. Bowman passed away Feb. 3, 2013 in Santa Rosa, CA., at the age of 92.

Lucille was on born on July 2, 1920 in Lorane, Oregon to James and Susie Skelton. She lived her early childhood in the Lorane and Elkton area. She and her family moved to Santa Clara, Oregon where she attended school. Her favorite subject in school was basketball. Upon finishing her schooling, Lucille attended Beauty College in Eugene, Oregon where she graduated and obtained her beautician license. Lucille opened up her first beauty shop when she was 17 years old. Her career as a beauty operator was to span a period of 40 years during which time she owned beauty shops in Oregon and Illinois.

Lucille married Clifton C. Bowman on April 22, 1940, at the First Congregational Church in Eugene, Oregon. They were married 61 years and lived the better part of their lives in Lane County, Oregon.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; John (Jack) S. Bowman and Pat Bowman; four grandchildren: John C. Bowman, Mary Ann Blanchard, Tiffany Herbert and Matthew Findley; four great grandchildren: Jake Bowman, Taylor, Mackenzie and Matthew Herbert; one brother, Thomas A. Skelton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton and a grandson, Gary.

Lucille enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an avid fisherwoman, hunter and story-teller extraordinaire. Lucille loved family gatherings and enjoyed preparing mounds of delicious food to the delight of everyone. After retiring as a beautician, she was very proud to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. At most family gatherings and reunions she was regarded as one of the family historians and loved by all.

A Celebration of Life for Lucille will be held Sunday, February 17, 2013, at 03:00 PM, at the Emerald Community Fellowship (Formerly Emerald Baptist Church), located at 631 E. 19th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
