Pfc. U.S. Army, {RA16900235}, Vietnam War-Pfc. Ortiz was killed in action by small arms fire on 11-20-1967 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with Co. C of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Pfc. Ortiz started his tour of Vietnam on August 13, 1967.

He is the son of Mr. Roman & Mrs. Nicholaza Ortiz of 10717 Edbrooke, Chicago, Illinois, and a 1964 graduate of Fenger H.S., and
leaves siblings, Arturo, Romana, Sgt. Alejandro, & Rodolfo, and he enlisted with the Army on 2-14-1967.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
