Obituary, DESERET NEWS, 7 Feb 1872:
"DIED-
At Spanish Fork January 26, 1872, LETTITIA ANN G., wife of Capt. John T. Davis.
"Sister Davis was born August 2, 1815, at Sholhook, near Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, South Wales. In the same County she was married to Capt. Davis, April 9, 1839. She obeyed the gospel in Liverpool, England, in May, 1842, and, in 1851, emigrated, with her husband, to Utah, where, for her amiability of disposition, she was respected by numerous friends and associates. She presided over a Female Relief Society in Spanish Fork for over twelve years.
"The funeral took place on Sunday, Jan. 28th, when, notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, Bishop Thurber, with the presiding Teachers, the Spanish Fork Choir, and the F.R. Societies of both Wards, with hundreds of others, were present. The procession consisted of about 550 or 600 persons, headed by 56 vehicles."

Inscription
Poem on the other side of monument:
"The Captain and his faithful wife
Have closed the voyage of their life.
But happy they, for both had sailed,
On Zion's ship that never failed.
The holy priesthood for their guide,
Safely they've crossed life's ocean wide.
Now rest they on that peaceful shore,
Among the blest forever more.
And oh! their joy will be complete
When all their children there they meet."
