Miss Janice Elizabeth Sellers Jones age 22, of Rt 2 Box 64 Hampstead,NC died Tuesday afternoon (December 6,1983) in New Hanover Memorial Hospital as a result of a accident that happen December 1,1983.
Janice was born in Loris,SC on July 10,1961. She was a member of the Hampstead Community Club.
Surviving are her mother Mrs. Carol Congleton Sellers Jones and her step-father Mr. Thomas Earl (Buck) Jones of Hampstead; a brother Alonzo Wesley Sellers of Whiteville,NC; two sisters Mrs Cecil (Susie) Roof of Hampstead,NC; and Carol Louise Jones of the home; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo A. Congleton of Hampstead;step-paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Burr Jones,Sr of Rocky Point,NC and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Sellers, Sr. of Whiteville,NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday December 9,1983 in the Hampstead Baptist Church with the Rev.Jerry Smith and Rev. Ralph Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead,NC.
Casketbearers will be: Stacy Jones,Billy Roof,Rocky Kegeris,Tony Scott,Tony Trott,and Larry Huffsticker.
The Family will receive friends at Cobles Oleander Chapel from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday December 8,1983.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Hampstead Rescue Squad,Hampstead,NC.

Janice was an avid bicycler, and was hit by a car on highway 17 in Hampstead while riding her bicycle. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for several days before she passed away. She was a graduate of Topsail High School and a member of Hampstead Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother and a sister.
She is deeply missed and loved by all.
