One of three (3) siblings from the marriage of USN CDR Edwin T. Osler, Sr. and Mary Ann M. Osler. Tom was a graduate of YORKTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, Class of 1965, in Arlington County, VA.--near where he was born and raised with his sister Mary Graham Osler and younger brother Turner Osler. Both Mary and now Dr. Turner Osler, are believed to have graduated from YORKTOWN--probably in the late 1960's.
Tom, while serving as a 2nd LT. in U.S. Army, received his first of four (4) 'Medals of Valor'-- he received a Silver Star for his service at the Battle of Dakto (Nov. 1967); a Bronze Star with a 'V' (Valor) at engagements elsewhere in Kontum Province, Republic of Vietnam during 1968--and the Combat Infantry Badge. LT. Osler also received a Purple Heart for wound(s) suffered at Dakto, and a second Bronze Star for "Service and Leadership" during his last tour in Vietnam--as a member of 'D' Company, 3rd of 8th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.

Following his sudden death in 24 August 1989 (per death certificate) his interment was at Arlington National Cemetery on 5 Sep 1989, and he is at rest there in the shadow of his mother and father's gravestone.
