Charles died Monday, July 10, 2000, at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital. Beloved son of the late Ernest Blankenship and Ella Roxie Fife. He was followed in death by his son, Charles Jeffrey BLankenship. He was the husband of Opal M. Lowe Blankenship. Born on December 14, 1928, in Floyd County. He was a miner and was affiliated with the Church of Christ, and was a WWII veteran. He is survived by his wife, Opal Lowe Blankenship. Survivors include son, Randall Blake Blankenship of Ypsilanti, Michigan, one brother, Duran Blankenship of Joe's Creek; one sister, Betty King., of Millers Creek; and three grandchildren.
