Mr. Franklin was born in Union Springs, AL to Jerome and Virginia Jolley Franklin. After high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and was a Radioman in the South Pacific during WWII and later during Korea. After his Navy service, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served overseas and stateside on many assignments. He retired from military service after 27 years. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Ann "Annie" N. Fleming of Biloxi; brother, Jerome Franklin of Temeoula, CA; and sisters, Hazel F. Briggs of Arlington, VA, and Virginia F. Bierly of Menifee, CA.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
