James Neil "Jimmy" Andersen died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 17. His courageous lifelong battle with liver disease ended at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. Jim returned home to his Heavenly Father, surrounded by his family.
Jimmy continued to show his courage and strength during the struggle with his disease and still remained a comforting light in everyone's life. His sincere kindness and gentle nature will be forever missed by those who love him. Jimmy's love for his family was apparent as he remained an intricate part of our lives even while he suffered with the effects of his illness.

He was a very dedicated father, which he took great pride in, and it was very important to him that his son became instilled with the morals Jim valued the most. His role as an uncle made Jim very proud. He was always there to help anyone in need, and he did his absolute best to make sure everyone was comfortable. Jim was the core of many events, both with his family and his friends.

He was never shy to delegate or wheel-and-deal with the ability to "sell ice to an Eskimo." Jim had an extremely infectious laugh, and a smile and sense of humor that could brighten any gloomy day. He was confident and passionate about his life. His wisdom and character was advanced for his age, with the ability to understand the bigger picture and keep his attitude positive, even under tremendous circumstances.

Jimmy loved the outdoors, his trucks and his Cadillac, hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, folfing, and playing league pool with his brother and friends. He loved animals and was known to bring home a stray or two.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leslie Andersen, Richard and Violette DeShazo, uncles, Ernest Neil and Kenneth James DeShazo and "Pops" John McIntee.

He is survived by the loves of his life, his son, Blaine Christopher Andersen and fiancée Nikki Snow, father, Dick Andersen, mother, Karen DeShazo Andersen, sister, Allison Andersen Phipps, brothers, Jake and Zach Andersen, nephews, Kadin Phipps LeCoure, Evan James Andersen, and niece Shelby Rae Andersen, all of Butte; grandmothers, Margaret Epperson of Helena and Maxine Peterson of Coeur d'Alene; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; the entire DeShazo family including Sunny Harmon and Justin DeShazo who were raised with Jim; and many countless friends.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
