Virginia F. Carlson Succumbs After a Long Illness.

Virginia F. Carlson, 74, passed away on May 12, 1994 at the Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte, California. She had been ill for at least the last year and finally succumbs to cancer, which had come back and spread after surgery from 6 months earlier.

She was buried at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum at Montebello, California. Present for the service were her two sons, Robert Carlson and Carl Carlson, and Daughter in Law Josefina Carlson and Grandchildren, Michael, Julie and Cindy Carlson.

Virginia Frances Stroh, daughter of Richard W. Stroh and Frances Ann Lammers Stroh was born at Hooper, Nebraska, Dodge County on August 15, 1919. On June 3, 1942, she was married to Carl Nels Carlson of Hazeltown, Iowa. Present for the marriage were Carl Carlson's parents, Edward Carl
Carlson and Sarah Etta Corbin Carlson. Also present were the parents of Virgina F.Stroh, Richard W. Stroh and Frances Ann Lammers Stroh. To this union were born two children, Robert Carlson and Carl Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Stroh and Frances Stroh and a sister Marjory Darleen Stroh who died at the age of 7. She was survived by a brother, Marlyn (Jack) Richard Stroh of Fremont, Nebraska.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Carl N.Carlson in 1979. Both parents were divorced in 1949.

Virginia F. Stroh grew up in Hooper, Nebraska and graduated from Hooper High School in 1937. She then attended Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska. As a single mother, raising two boys she taught high school classes in typing, bookkeeping, English and short hand at various high schools. After retiring, she retired to a retirement community, Royal Vista Terrace in Duarte, California.

She is greatly missed by her family, which includes two sons and seven grandchildren
