Info given me by Kevin Walker and Gail Fisher Walker 47571214 March 2012:

I am sending you a few things for Bertha. She was my dad's aunt. If you are interested I have a lot of information about the Walker's. Bertha, as you now know, was my grandfather's oldest sister. Their father and mother were William L. & Lulla Talley Walker. William's father was James Matthew Walker from Noxubee Co. Macon, MS. James Matthew is buried behind the old William Watkins Douglass home (his father in law) in Sumner Co. Tn. And last for now was James Mathews parents who were Lawrence Witsett Walker & Susan (Susie) Cade. When James Matthew was born in 1847 in Macon MS his father L W had accumulated a very large amount of farm land & 2 mills just outside Macon, located on old Rt. 14 just west of Macon about 2 miles. He was a planter. Susie died in 1855 and is buried in the old, no longer used, Walker Cemetery in Macon. They had 4 other boys with James Matthew being the baby. After the Civil War was over, and in 1869, LW Walker & his last wife (Catherine O Prince) moved back to Gallatin, where they both were originally from 20 years before and lived out the rest of their lives. Their farm was located just east out of Gallatin on Hartville Pike (located where the new Hospital is located)
