Elvira A. Rizzo, 87, of Belleville passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. The funeral is Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Megaro Memorial Home (megaromemorialhome.com), 503 Union Ave., Belleville. A Mass is at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Nutley. Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Born in Newark to the late Frank and Bessie (Falivena) Vucola, Mrs. Rizzo lived in Belleville for many years. She was a nursing assistant at the Essex County Geriatrics Hospital in Belleville for 13 years, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Rizzo is survived by her sons, Vincent and his wife, Becky, and Michael and his wife, Josephine; daughters, Rose Marie Ventola and her husband, Peter, and Barbara Berger; sisters, Anne Casale, Marie Vucola, Elsie Capuozzi, Rosemarie Jemas, and Dolores Hanrahan; grandchildren, Peter and Karen Ventola, Daniel, Christopher, and Nicholas Rizzo, Josette Harris, Christina and Jonathan Zisa, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Angelo and Michael Vucola, and sister, Yolanda Pedulla.
