Mrs. Marks was born April 8, 1911 (headstone shows 1912) in Groton, N.Y. the daughter of Wilfred and Frances Hoose Warner. She had lived in Moravia most of he life. She had been employed as a short order cook at Cornell University until her retirement in 1964. She was a former member of the Venice Baptist Church.
Mrs. Marks was the widow of Thomas P. Marks, who predeceased her in March of 1963. She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Marjorie) Marks of Moravia, and Laverne Marks of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, David, Debra, Michael, Charles, Charlene, Helen, Paul, Philip, Cheryl, Susan, and Kelley; several great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her five brothers and two sisters; one son, Richard in 1997; his wife Eleanor in 1995; and granddaughters Donna in 1993 and Roxanne in 2005.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 23, at Wade Funeral Home, with burial in Cobb Street Cemetery in Groton. Memorial contributions may be made to Four Town First Aid Squad, Box 28, Moravia, NY 13118.
