MRS. ROY TURNER DIES IN DENVER FRIDAY EVENING
Mrs. Etta Walton Turner, 41, wife of Roy Turner, and former well known Canon City resident, died at her home in Denver Friday night from heart trouble. She had been ill health for some time, members of the family said Saturday.
Mrs. Turner was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton, early-day residents of Canon City, who lived here for many years. She was born in Canon city, attended schools here and graduated from Canon City high school in the class of 1912, the same year her husband graduated.
The couple were married in Nevada in 1919. From Nevada they came to Canon City and lived here until about 12 years ago when the moved to Denver. A daughter, Joan, was born in Canon City.
In addition to her daughter and her husband, Mrs. Turner is survived by a brother, James Walton of Los Angeles, Calif.; another brother, Dick Walton of Pueblo; and a sister, Mrs. Vic Adams of Denver; Mrs. Turner is a niece of Walter Richards of Canon City.
Mrs. Turner was a member of the First Baptist church here and during her residence in Canon City was active in church work.
The body of Mrs. Turner was brought to Canon City Saturday by the Wilson mortuary. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
