Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Alta Jane Suggs Williams, and she was also a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Fischbach and the Rev. Sam Sarvis officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs, Jernigan is survived by her husband, Johnny Bert Jernigan of the home, three sons, Johnnie Clayton Jernigan of Lexington, Ronnie Clifton Jernigan of Lexington, Larry Neil Jernigan of Tabor City; four daughters Helen Doris Williamson of Tabor City, Emily Gennette Harrelson of Tabor City, Judy Carolyn Smithey of Green Sea and Kelly Jernigan of Green Sea; two brothers Lonnie and Donnie Williams, both of Florida; six sisters, Thelma Brown of Florida, Lucille Grainger of Loris, Ruby Santin of Florida, Elise Cartrette of Loris, and Retha Day of Franklin, Letha Miller of Florida; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
