She grew up in the Hinton and Geary areas, moving to OKC in 1930. She has been a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church since 1948. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Gilbert; son, Gerald Don Lawson; 3 sisters, Gertrude Beauford, Cordelia Alexander, and Violet Hames; 2 brothers, Elmer and Earl Hames. Survivors include grandson, Gerald Don Lawson II and dau-in-law, Dawn Lawson of San Antonio; 2 nieces, 3 nephews and 1 great niece; 2 great nephews; and 2 sisters-in-law. Services will be 2 pm Friday, Feb 6 at Capitol Hill Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
