Jane and John moved around alot. At one point John was a very successful business man; however, he loved to gamble. His daughter would recall her father John losing all that he had in gambling and having to move the whole family elsewhere, just to start all over again. The family lived in Illinois and Missouri, before moving to Pueblo, Colorado.
The story is told by Jane's granddaughter, that one day Jane's son was riding on a train and sitting across from another young man. While they played cards, they both found out that they were cousins and both rejoiced. The two male cousins decided to get their parents together again. Jane had not seen her older brother Corbrey J. Hoover for many, many years. When Jane's son and Corbrey's son got the brother and sister together it was a great reunion. Corbrey was living in Colorado at the time. This may explain why the John and Jane (Hoover) Fawcett family moved to Colorado and stayed there.
Jane and John William Fawcett had the following children:
1. John William Fawcett II, born 19 February 1861; d. 19 Sep. 1898 in El Paso, Texas (his remains were brought to rest in Pueblo, Colorado.)
2. Thomas Fawcett, born 28 November 1863; died 18 September 1925.
3. Emma E. Fawcett, born 7 February 1866; died 18 June 1935 in California.
4. George Andrew Fawcett, born 13 April 1868; died 19 May 1875.
