Donald R. Hoban, 69, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born March 2, 1943, to Cedric V. Hoban and Betty (Matan) Hoban in Santa Monica, Calif. He married Barbara (Kuntz) Hoban on Dec. 31, 1983, and she survives in Morristown.

Other survivors include his father of Avon; three sons, Andrew (wife, Melody) Hoban of St. Paul, Pete Barker of Greensburg and Keith (wife, Tammy) Barker of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kim (husband, Jeff) Carlton of Morristown and Billie Barker Gipson of Indianapolis; three brothers, Peter (wife, Linda) Hoban of Minnesota, Tim (wife, Pam) Hoban of Waldron and Patrick Hoban of Waldron; one sister, Therese (husband, Jim) Schuerman of Avon; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa and Wyatt Hoban, Kreigh, Lacy and Bryce Carlton, Hannah Barker, Chaz, Stone, Hunter and Flynt Worth; and two great-great-grandchildren, Trinity and Harper Hoban.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one son, Richard Barker.

Mr. Hoban was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a field technician for 19 years for Fountaintown Gas Co., retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Morritown Town Council, Shelby County Solid Waste District Committee and a lifetime member of Fur Takers of America. Donald was a gifted woodworker. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and trapping with his dog, Cooper. He loved his wife, Barbara, and his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, IN 47272.

Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Scott officiating.

Burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Shelby County Cancer Association or Donald R. Hoban Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
