Edgar Taylor "E.T." Adams, 64, of Middletown, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1934, in Malaga, Ky., and had lived in Middletown for 43 years. Mr. Adams was an independent truck driver for many years. He then was employed as a grounds keeper for the Willow Knoll Retirement Village and as a heavy equipment operator for Moraine Products of Middletown. He retired in 1997. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3458, 2114 Oxford State Road, Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Caleb and Minta (Halsey) Adams; an infant daughter; a sister, Ora Holland; and two brothers, Raymond and Ernie Adams.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 42 years, Janice; a daughter, Belvuia K. Bumgardner, and her husband, Ric, of Middletown; two sons, Kenneth R. Adams and Edgar T. "Sonny" Adams, and his wife, Brenda, all of Middletown; two grandsons, Joseph T. and Steven A. Adams, both of Middletown; a step granddaughter, Samantha Sloan, and husband, Mike, of Kentucky; a step great-granddaughter, Natanya Sloan of Kentucky; a brother, Milton Adams, and wife, Gretchen, of Waynesville; and a sister, Bobbie Drake, and husband, Winfred, of Middletown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 15, from noon to 2 p.m. at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Spencer officiating. Entombment will be in Woodside Cemetery Mausoleum.
