OBITUARY
Mrs. A.O. Rye nee Clara Emanda Benson, was born in Danville township, Worth Co., Iowa, on Sept. 5,1881. Her parents were Oley and Guri Benson, both of whom preceded her in death.
After completing her training in the public schools, she attended the Nora Springs Seminary, and then taught in the Worth county rural schools for several terms.
On Dec. 25, 1914 she married Arne O. Rye. To them two children, Glen and Arthur, were born. Mr. and Mrs. Rye lived in Hanlontown from the time of their marriage until June, 1918, when they moved to Northwood where they have since resided.
She had been a member of the Northwood Lutheran Church since 1918 and in the work of the church. Mrs. Rye was a regular attendant at the church services. Her presence in the church, will be greatly missed.
She was devoted to her family and home and was always hospitable to her many friends. She spent her entire life in this community and came to be one of its most esteemed and respected residents.
She is survived by her husband Arne O. Rye; two sons, Liet. C. Glenn Rye, U.S. Navy, of Norfork Va.; Sgt. Arthur C. Rye U.S. Army, of Drew Field, Tampa, Fla.; a grandson, David infant son of Glen and Mrs. Glen Rye, one sister Gena Benson and one brother,Theodore M. Benson both of Lisbon, N.D. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death
