He was born April 20, 1947, in Acworth, N.H., the son of Curtis and Phyllis (Staples) DeMond.
He received his education in Acworth.
He married Patricia Lamantea on May 30, 1992, in Windsor.
Mr. DeMond worked in law enforcement in Windsor for 20 years, serving as police chief for the past 12 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and American Legion Post 25, both in Windsor.
Mr. DeMond enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife of Windsor; three daughters, Lisa Harrington of Bennington, Terri Tidwell and Stephanie DeMond, both of Windsor; three brothers, Allen DeMond of Keene, N.H., Fred DeMond of Marlo, N.H., and Lee DeMond of Manchester, N.H.; three sisters, Mildred Kmiec of Langdon, N.H.; Phyllis Nowak of Mount Holly and Jewel Lufkin of Charlestown, N.H.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor.
The Rev. Paul Belhumeur will officiate.
A private burial will take place at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.
