Memorial services for Ervan E. Powell, 89, of Caldwell, who died Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Free Methodist Church, Caldwell, with the Rev. Allen Nelson officiating.
Cremation is under the direction of Flahiff Crematory, Caldwell.
Mr. Powell was born Sept. 10, 1896, in Stromsburg, Nebraska, to Charles and Minnie Belle Hurd Powell. He moved with his family to Ashton, Idaho, in 1902.
He married Bessie Bean Feb. 14, 1934, Valentines Day at Rupert. The couple moved to Canyon County in 1935, where they farmed until his retirement in 1976.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell and six sons. Don, Clyde, Alvin, Floyd, Gene and Howard. Twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and a granddaughter.
