ECRU – Sarah Hardy Weatherly, 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Graceland Care Center in Pontotoc. She was a member of Ecru Baptist Church and retired from Brookwood Furniture Manufacturing. She enjoyed baking for others, painting, crocheting, her plants and playing with Aggie.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with the Rev. Charles Stubblefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Leila Phillips (Rob Kendrick) of Mooreville; one niece, Diane Hardy Pollard; one great-niece, Lindsey Pollard, one great-nephew, Jason Pollard; two great-great-nephews, Miles and Owen Pollard; and a special family friend, Harvey Hillard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus Hardy and Mamie Lou Andrews Hardy, and a brother: Howard Hardy.
Pallbearers will be Lewis McGee, Waymon Bigham, Rex Mooney, Sonny Stubblefield, Charles Mitchell and Charlie Stubblefield. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherald Weeks and Joe Sansing.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
