Hugh "Dan" Clampitt, 77, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in North Richland Hills. Service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Dan was born Oct. 4, 1935, to Hulon D. and Aileen Neel Clampitt. He was a machinist for Bell Helicopter for 33 years before retiring in 1995. Dan loved to camp, visit with friends and family, and watch old television westerns. Survivors: Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara Harris Clampitt, they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 9. He is also survived by a son, Chris Clampitt of Fort Worth; and stepdaughters, Linda Sanders and husband, Sam, of Watauga, and Donna Moore and husband, Stan, of Round Rock. Dan was also a beloved grandfather to Danny, Tricia and Lauren Clampitt, Michelle Rollins, Holly and Katie Sanders, and Aimee and Evan Moore. He is also survived by one great-grandson, Tristan Clampitt; in addition to uncles, cousins and cherished friends.
