Funeral services for Edwin A. Smith Sr. were held at Bedias, Texas, January 2. Mr. Smith died December 31 at his home at Sugarland. Interment was in a Bedias cemetery.
Mr. Smith, father of Edwin A. Smith Jr. and James F. Smith of Memphis, was born May 15, 1886, in Bedias.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, L.L. Smith of Genoa, Texas, W.W. Smith of Cass county, Morris Smith of Houston, Edwin A. Smith Jr. and James F. Smith of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Roy McWhorter of Bedias, and Mrs. Baron H. Smith of Enid, Okla.; his father, Frank Smith of Bedias; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
