Mr. Buckwalter was a member of Warwick River Mennonite Church for over 50 years before moving to the Shenandoah Valley. Bud was an artist and fine woodworker. He was known as a steadfast Christian and family man, and a man of quiet and thoughtful service to his church and community.
Survivors include three children, Ben Buckwalter and his wife, Amy, of Goshen, IN, Edith Buckwalter Holsopple and her husband, Curt, of Hopewell, VA and Laine Buckwalter of Blacksburg, VA; two sisters, Ruby Stiefel and Leah Massolini of Louisville, OH; three grandchildren, Lena Buckwalter, Mike Buckwalter, and Jay Holsopple; and three great-grandchildren, Dillon Tillas, and Rebecca and Eli Holsopple.
Funeral service was January 14, 2010 at Warwick River Mennonite Church. Burial was in the Warwick River Mennonite Cemetery, Newport News, VA.
