John Clarvoe Elliott was a physician. His family was one of the first Catholic families to migrate to Missouri in the 1830s. He married Mary Caroline Gough 29 Nov 1853. They had two known children: Mary Anna (1854-1855) and Sarah Alice (Elliott) Gillchrist (1857 - 1932). He then married Barneillen Mathilda Worland in about 1858. They had five known children: John B (1860-1860), Eugene (1861-1862), Minnie (1863-1864), John C (1862-1865), and Kate C (1865-unknown). Barniellen remarried to Hiram Miller in 1867 and died in 1908.
