Frank "Tweets" Armani, 79, of Hier Avenue, and formerly of Solvay, died Saturday in Potsdam while visiting in the area.

Mr. Armani was a native of Solvay and returned recently to Syracuse to live with his daughter. He retired after 37 years with Allied Chemical Corp. His wife, Bertha, died in 1989.

Mr. Armani was a communicant of St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church and a member of District 50, United Mine Workers Union. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Armani was a member of Stanley Pennock Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Solvay.

Surviving are seven daughters, Dolores Deon, Shirley Murray and Bonnie Plopper, all of Syracuse, Marie Reynolds of Hornell, Wilma Sargent of Pennsylvania, Pearl Derry of Central Square and Frances Grimes of California; two sons, Leonard Perry of Hornell and Kenneth Badgley of Syracuse; a brother, August of Baldwinsville; six sisters, Virginia Tropea and Columbia Micho, both of Syracuse, Ceil Ivaniszek and Mary Egnoto, both of Solvay, Barbara Silvia of Liverpool and Adeline Armani of Utica; 49 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay, and 9 a.m. in St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Oakwood-Morningside Cemetery.
