Athalean Miner, 82 of Austin, Indiana, died on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a homemaker, a member of the New Providence Baptist Church and the Ebenezor Church Keen Agers Group in Greenbriar, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avis Gordon Miner; a son, Bill Miner; a grandson, Jason Herald and a brother, Billy Ray Carmack. Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Smith (Donnie Lee) of Scottsburg, Indiana, Dee Herald (Donald) of Crothersville, Indiana and Kathy Caruthers of Hendersonville, Tennessee; two sons, John Miner (Donna Spicer) and Bert Miner both of Austin, Indiana; four sisters, Ann Burns, Ada Robbins and Dana Herald all of Scottsburg, Indiana and Brenda Pennington of Austin, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Herald, Krista Minton, Annette King, Rachael Chapman, Jeremiah and Gabriel Apple, Jamie Caruthers, Dillon Miner, Jeremy and Natasha Spicer and 11 great grandchildren, Alexa, Jeremiah, Jr., Kurik, Berit, Kaylin, Wyatt, Easton, Jaerin, Jaiden, Coleman and Coleigh. Interment in New Providence Cemetery.
