Richard married Dianne Kay Jones in Rockton, IL, on July 17, 1965, and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2001. He had been employed by General Motors, and was a member of the UAW Local 95. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Angela Stewart; five brothers: Vernon, Wayne, Donald, Robert and Roy, Jr.; four sisters: Delores, Emily, Gwen and Louise; and son-in-law, Richard Willman.
