The Piedmont Herald, May 21, 1897-

- Mrs. Hester C. Michaels, a lady well known in this community and very highly respected for her many excellent qualities, the wife of C. Frank Michaels, died at her home on Johnson Street, Westernport, Tuesday morning last, May 18, 1897. Mrs. Michaels was the daughter of Mr. Jacob Biggs now of Elk Garden but for a number of years a resident of this community. She was born on Cabin Run Sep 10, 1854 but had spent most of her life in this neighborhood, perhaps the better part of it in Westernport. She was married to Mr. Michaels Sep 1, 1880 and leaves three children, Miss Edith, Miss Grace, and Master Howard. a complication of troubles developing into symptoms of typhoid brought about the fatal termination. The Rev. Chas. Biggs of Kingsley Chapel M. E. Church, Cumberland is a brother of the deceased and Mrs. Geo. W. Ravenscroft of Westernport is a sister. Mr. Henry Biggs and Mr. Wm. Biggs both also of Westernport are brothers. The funeral took place Wednesday.

Elk Garden- Jacob Biggs, Esq., received the sad intelligence on Tuesday of the death of his daughter Mrs Frank Michaels of Westernport. Mr Geo. Band and wife also attended the funeral.
