Claude C. Colberg Succumbs Sunday February 18th 1973
Claude C. Colberg, former resident of Sterling, died Sunday morning in Whiteside County Nursing Home after an extended illness.
The body was moved to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Melvin Funeral Home. Brigadier Violet Hasney of The Salvation Army will conduct services and burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
Mr. Colberg was born June 2nd 1887 at Prophetstown, the son of Charles and Emma Colberg. He was united in marriage to Ethel Marie Kline, Jan. 1914 in Morrison. Mrs. Colberg proceeded July 22nd 1954. Mr. Colberg was a carpenter by trade for many years in this area.
Surviving are five sons, John, Richard, William and Dean Colberg of Sterling and David V Colberg of Rock Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Irene) Harrington of Sterling and Mrs. Leland (Alice) Zier of Pearl City; one brother, Carl Colberg of Tacoma. Wash., and one sister, Mrs. William (Ethel) Steltz, of San Jose, California. There are 18 grand children and 15 great grand children. He was preceded by a son, parents and a number of brothers and sisters.
