Eight years to the day that his wife Emma Hemperly Poorman, died, John H. Poorman, of Palmyra, retired railroad crossing watchman, died on Tuesday evening at 7:40 o'clock at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Hampton, of 14 North Lincoln Street, Palmyra. Death attributed to a complication of diseases from which he had been suffering since July and which kept him bedfast for two weeks, came to Mr. Poorman at the age of 71 years. He was born in Lebanon County, the son of the late John and Leah Gruber Poorman. He lived in Palmyra for the past twenty-nine years. The survivors are: three children, Mrs. E. F. Hampton, Harry C. Poorman and Mrs. H. G. Zimmerman, all of Palmyra; one brother, Phillip Poorman, of Annville, a sister, Mrs. Frank Fegan, of Cleona, and nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
